Why we’re doing this

Because Fruit IS Awesome…it all started with an inspiration to grow fruits and veggies in a place where little grows but HOPE. We were inspired by an idea that came up out of our Notre Dame Mission Volunteer February Mid Year meeting.  We decided it’s something we could do as a team — make a difference for those who might like some HOPE grown where the live in south east Washington, D.C.

This is a garden filled with creativity and donations from many kind people who inspire us to continue to plant some hope.  WE THANK ALL WHO CONTRIBUTED TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE!

We invite the residents, AmeriCorps volunteers, anyone who wants to give a little time dirt water and hope!

We hope our harvest will yield tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, greens, beans, flowers and herbs. It all will be shared with the residents and staff who work with Community of Hope.
